We advise on personal taxation and employee benefits, probate, wills, charity and trusts. We give advice on all aspects of pensions, including international and QROPS.
PWT Advice LLP has three highly-qualified partners, all of whom are well-known in their respective fields: view biographies. We’re supported by consultants who specialise in pensions law, probate and court of protection work.
We provide top quality advice in these specialist areas to firms, companies and businesses who need this type of high-level advice occasionally. You may not, however, want the expense of hiring full-time employees or consultants.
Consider us as your best-friend specialist adviser. We are on hand when needed, but cost you nothing the rest of the time. We won't count towards your overheads, but still allow you to give a full-service to your clients. And what's more, we don't compete with you, so there's no risk of us 'stealing' your clients.
We can also provide 'white-label' private client services, using your company/firm's name & logo on all documents sent out to your clients.
The Law Society of England & Wales recognises us as a suitable body to provide legal services (SRA number 551173). You can find details of the Solicitors' Code of Conduct at the Solicitors Regulation Authority. If you are not satisfied with our handling of a complaint you can ask the Legal Ombudsman to consider the complaint. The Legal Ombudsman can be contacted at: http://www.legalombudsman.org.uk or enquiries@legalombudsman.org.uk. Our insurers are Travelers (Exchequer Court, 33 St Mary Axe, London EC3A 8AG) and our policy covers us worldwide (excluding claims brought in the US and Canada).

This case is important on two levels. From a practical perspective, it is a stark reminder to all trustees of the importance of keeping accurate and up-to-date records of their beneficiaries. Equally the case shows how vital it can be to take out insurance on the winding-up of a trust.
From a technical perspective, the case is important because it confirms, for the first time, that the protection afforded by section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925 can be extended to trustees of pension schemes. However, trustees cannot rely on the s27 protection when they have already had ‘notice’ of a claim. The judgment examines what constitutes notice for these purposes.
