Wills

When making your Will it is important to consider all of your assets, including those situated abroad. Whilst you should take advice from a lawyer in the country where the asset is situated, and make a foreign Will dealing with your non-UK assets (if appropriate), it is important to liaise with the solicitor making your UK Will. If you do not then you may inadvertently revoke either the UK or foreign Will depending upon the order in which they are made. It is possible to prevent this and have two or more valid Wills in place but make sure that both your foreign lawyer and UK solicitor are aware of the existence of any other Will.

PWT Advice can put you in touch with a lawyer who will be able to draw up a foreign Will to work alongside your UK Will and avoid an unnecessary tax charge in two or more different countries.
